South Zeal Emergency Escape Vessel

August is here and it seems to have stopped raining, at least for the moment. The recent Parish Emergency Plan rehearsal could easily have been useful if that weather had continued (see the News page or click here).

It is worth pointing out a couple of upcoming events this month: The big event for August is obviously The Folk Festival (although by the time you read this it'll probably be over); The weekend of the 18th sees a lot of activity in Sticklepath with the Fete, Horseshoe Run, Tug of War and The Beating of The Bounds; The South Zeal history exhibition from the 25th should also be interesting (see the News page or click here).

We've got some more pictures from the South Zeal Ball weekend - Zayle Fayre & the Cricket Match - click the image on the right for the pictures.

Check back later in the month for some pictures of Fi and Paul Reddaway's party at Holes Meadow. It seems a good time was had by all. The village cider seemed to help everyone forget about the weather! (Edit: the Pictures are now up here.)

Fun at Zayle Fayre

Sorry for the short (and rather late) update this month, but it is the silly season after all. I'm sure we'll do better next month - there's a lot going on in August.
