The Hatherleigh Silver Band and Moor Harmony will be joining together to celebrate Christmas at 7:30pm on Saturday 9th December at the Victory Hall, South Zeal.

From West Devon Borough Council:
As part of our latest round of recycling improvements, South Zeal will be receiving a pilot Saturday bring service for household garden waste and bulky card.
This will be one Saturday in four and the garden waste truck will be parked in the recreation field car park from 9.30 until 14.00.
We will publish the dates for the year in March, and we will send them to you as part of a recycling service guide for all households in West Devon.
 | South Tawton Parish Council, along with the Recreation Ground Committee, regret that the toilets in the Recreation Ground will be closed until further notice due to continuing vandalism of the site. Broken windows, damaged and broken slates, broken toilet roll holders and the burning of plastic and paper all have contributed to this decision. Whilst this mindless damage is being caused by one or two individuals, it does effect everyone who wishes to use the Recreation Ground facility. The funding of the toilets is undertaken by the Parish Council from the precept it receives from your Council Tax bill, so the more damage and cost, the more each household will be indirectly forced to pay if we want this important facility to remain. |

Steve and Brid Humphries will be returning to manage the Kings Arms, South Zeal next week. I suspect they'll be quite busy, but I'm sure they'd enjoy it if we all pop in to say Hello.
Voting has closed and nominations totted up and the five finalists have now been revealed, and South Zeal is one of them! The other finalists are Bishopsteignton, Lympstone, Dunsford and Clovelly.
Sadly we didn't win the Devon Life Village of the Year Award. It went to Lympstone.
Cider with Roadies

Apple Pressing from 1.00pm - Performance 5.30pm
Bring your apples to Cider with Roadies; a Common Players event of two parts. An afternoon of apple juicing and at the end of the day’s pressing, a 40 minute family show, The Big Squeeze, around the apple press. Plus another opportunity to sample our own community cider ( - if there is any left - Ed.)
