Those interested in 'treading the boards' or supporting in any of the thousand and one ways backstage, are invited to please go along. For any that are unable to get there but are desperate to join the top comic thespians or whose life will not be worth living if they don’t involved should relieve their anxiety by please contacting Eddy Hill on 01837 840332. Oh Yes They Should.

Players’ AGM
Those that might wish to find out if they can tread the boards by performing on stage or those that prefer to consider some advice on back-stage work might note that opportunity beckons on Tuesday, May 15th when the South Zeal Players hold their AGM in the Oxenham Arms, South Zeal.

Garden trip
A visit to Riverford Organics and a Forest Garden in Dartington is being organized on Saturday 19th May, as part of Belstone’s ‘Green Village’ Project. The forest garden is a mixture of trees, shrubs and perennial plants organised to mimic the structure of a natural forest. The system aims to be biologically sustainable, low maintenance and productive. They have been used for thousands of years in the Tropics but are a more recent introduction into temperate regions. The organisers can only take a maximum of 20 people but there may still a few places left on what should be a very interesting visit from which ideas may be gained for adoption in local gardens. The coach leaves Belstone Car Park at 9.00a.m. and should be back by 6.00p.m. Those going may either take along a packed lunch, or buy lunch at the Cider Press Centre and the people and number to call to check availability are Eddy and Robin Hill on 01837 840332.

Throwleigh Plant Sale
Throwleigh Annual Plant Sale is being held on Sunday May 20th in the Village Hall. The sale will run from 2.30pm until 5.00p.m. and teas will be available. The success of the sale is dependent upon as many people as possible bringing in items for sale so, those in the process of preparing summer flowers and vegetables might, please put aside a few extra that they could bring to the show. Apart from plants the organizers confirm that they are able to sell books, pots, tools and any other garden-related items. Larger items (e.g. garden furniture) can be sold on a 50/50 basis. All items for sale should be brought to the Village Hall please by 10.30am on May 20th. For further information please contact Judy Moss on 01647 433492.
