On Saturday 26th April, at 8:00pm, Helena Torpy and Steve Turner will be performing beautiful acoustic, fiddle and accordian music inspired by British, French and Swedish traditions. Tickets are £6 and may be obtained by calling Steve on Tel 01363 85066. Although this is not officially a Church House Concert, the format will be the same and I am sure it will be an excellent evening.

On Friday the 9th May, at 8:00pm , Jim Causley (www.jimcausley.co.uk) will be playing the final Church House Concert before the summer. Tickets are £6. Please phone Mark or Sarah on 01837 840775 to pre-book. Due to limited capacity, advance bookings only for this event. For those of you who don't know Jim, he is a young singer / accordianist from Devon who has taken the folk scene by storm over the past few years playing solo but also with Devils Interval and now with Mawkin:Causley. This is a great opportunity to see him play in a small, acoustic, environment.

We recently held an Open Meeting to start this Village Appraisal. We would like this consultation to be extended, so we have asked for facilities on the Beacon web site and in South Zeal Stores, courtesy of Mr and Mrs Law, to continue this process.

We would like to know what topics to include in the questionnaire, which will be delivered to all houses in the Parish. So have your say, what are your burning issues about the Parish??

Some topic headings will be provided and you only need to add your comments & concerns to these topics by way of the provided post it notes

Also we would like parishioners to join our Appraisal Group to help in the task of constructing, collating & administering the appraisal on behalf of the Parish Council

Apple Pressing from 1.00pm - Performance 5.30pm

Bring your apples to Cider with Roadies; a Common Players event of two parts. An afternoon of apple juicing and at the end of the day’s pressing, a 40 minute family show, The Big Squeeze, around the apple press. Plus another opportunity to sample our own community cider ( - if there is any left - Ed.)
